The news is official,
\nthough still too early to pack my bags.
\nI’m ready now for that trek, again;
\nready again to consolidate my life into
\na two-door on wheels and to drive like flying.<\/p>\n
In August I will take my leave from this rain,
\nfrom these domes and evergreens,
\nlakes and quiet inlets.
\nAugust, a day away at best and yet
\nstill too far to taste.<\/p>\n
And long past August, when the hard winter falls,
\nwe’ll corrode together,
\nMontreal and I,
\nand eat away at the institutions,
\nat the heartbreaks and the lonely solitudes
\nand we’ll emerge and be stars upon the earth.<\/p>\n
