  4. The Simpsons<\/li>\n
  5. The Muppet Show<\/li>\n
  6. Monty Python\u2019s Flying Circus<\/li>\n
  7. Mystery Science Theater Three Thousand (MST3K)<\/li>\n
  8. Angel<\/li>\n
  9. Mythbusters<\/li>\n
  10. Sesame Street<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    There are some runners-up as well.
    \nShows that didn’t make the list, but almost could have, include:<\/p>\n

    The Sopranos<\/strong> – Nixed because it’s too violent; watching it just makes me feel … queasy.
    \nSix Feet Under<\/strong> – Clever, to be sure, but I found my interest waning after a couple seasons.
    \nWeeds<\/strong> – Really intelligent at times. Other times, annoyingly juvenile.
    \nCarnivale<\/strong> – The ending pissed me off too much too like this show.
    \nDeadwood<\/strong> – Became annoyingly redundant.
    \nRome<\/strong> – Obviously I’m picking on HBO and Showtime shows, so why not throw them all in the pot?
    \nFuturama<\/strong> – Clever, but disappointing when compared to the Simpsons. Which is inevitable.
    \nSouth Park<\/strong> – Just because it’s ingeniously humorous doesn’t mean it’s smart.<\/p>\n
